Local Area - attractions

Penrhiw house is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and close to many world-famous tourist attractions.

Llywernog Silver-Lead Mine is just a mile away, an award-winning all weather attraction. A little further towards Aberystwyth lies Bwylch Nant-yr-Arian, where you can see the Red Kites being fed daily or take a waymarked forest walk. Nant-yr-Arian is also the perfect starting point for mountain biking. See our Links Page for more details.

A few miles away lies Devil's Bridge, with the world-famous Falls, tearooms and restaurant. You can take the narrow guage railway to Aberystwyth from here.

The nearest village is Ponterwyd, with a shop, BP garage and the George Borrow Hotel. There are many fishing lakes nearby (licenses available from the garage).
